The SCLMA provides local medical professionals with a forum to advance the professional, social and representative interests of the medical profession on the Sunshine Coast. Professional functions of the SCLMA include the provision of medical information and medical services relevant to the Sunshine Coast region utilizing our monthly newsletter, monthly clinical meeting and SCLMA website.
Our widely distributed and highly regarded SCLMA Newsletter is a major source of locally focused medical news and locally-provided medical services.
Our monthly clinical meetings always include a clinical update by a member or invited health professional with time for questions.
Our newly enhanced SCLMA website has a directory for current members to list their specialities and contact details.
Members and non-members have the opportunity to use any of these resources to advertise their medical services or related employment opportunities.
Social functions of the SCLMA include our monthly clinical meeting and periodic weekend conferences in Southeast Queensland. The success of our association is reflected in the attendance at our monthly clinical meetings ranging from 60-100 members and invited guests. Most meetings are usually sponsored by medical and health-related companies who provide services and support to local medical professionals. Occasional weekend conferences with up to 100 participants are sponsored by the SCLMA in conjunction with other local health service providers.
The annual Christmas function is the highlight of the Association's year. This social occasion is held in early December and is an opportunity to relax and be entertained. Members are free to attend with a small charge for partners.
